Maxine and Nancy were rescued in late June from a kill shelter in North Florida. We adopted them in July when they were 10 weeks of age. The Rescue had found their mama as well as her litter of four kittens and affectionately named them after the TV show Stranger Things. The mama cat was named Joyce and her litter has El (Eleven), Hopper, Maxine and Nancy. El and Hopper were already adopted when we visited the Rescue. We fell in love with both kittens and new they belonged as part of our family.
Maxine is nicknamed Miss Independent. She loves to watch the birds and insects out the window and only comes over for pets when she feels like it. When she isnt eating, her favorite past time is playing with Hex Bugs.
Nancy was considered the runt of the litter. It took her a long time to make weight to get spayed. She also contracted feline herpes when she was a baby. However, she is 100% healthy. She is so affectionate. She also is the one who wakes us up in the morning for mealtime. She will purr up a storm to lure us into feeding her.
